Laptop trouble.

Okay so lately my laptop, or lappy as it shall be known from now on has been acting up. Certain programs wouldn’t run, and discs wouldn’t play properly. So after getting sick of this, I decided it was time to back up my data, and re-install windows. I got a disc from Mongey (who runs Gamezbox - link at the side of this page) and went to install. Since then I’ve had trouble. Firstly I never deleted the old partition, so I had to install it over again. Now, I have no sound and no wireless, which means for that lappy - no internet. I’m currently using our sub-standard downstrairs lappy. Also, this version is XP pro, which I’m not used to.

I then noticed when switching off, it’d shut down, then the screen would go blank but the laptop would appear to still be on. I figured this was nothing and just held the off button until it powered off. Then this morning I go to switch it on and there’s no activity on the screen. Well ain’t that just the dressing on the giant crap sandwich that is the current state of my laptop?

I’m considering getting a new laptop though, not just because of these problems, but I’m probably due an upgrade anyway. If I suddenly come into a good bit of money, that’ll be the first thing I’ll buy. But for now, I’ve got to try fix my poor ol’ baby. If anyone has a spare Windows XP disc lying about it’d be appreciated.
