I’m a radio superstar

A while back I mentioned I’d been on the radio, and I’ve finally managed to get my hands on the recording.

So here’s the backstory. Four friends of mine (all ladies) were driving around my estate, and given my animal magnetism decided to pull up outside my house and get me to hop in and join them for a while. This I did, and after a period of driving around with the radio on, I reckon it’d be a good idea to text into the radio and try get a mention. I used to always do this in my old job (almost every shift) and eventually the guys on the station I used to text into got to know us and nearly always read out my messages, which were as weird and funny as possible.

The message I sent in was as follows :

Story love, we want a shout for Mr. Walsh who’s in the car right now with the gals, not in a gay way…play some Kings Of Leon would ya sweetheart?

So a few minutes later I get a call and the girl asks if I’ll speak on air for a sec and all that. I offer the task to the girls, who all declined. And I thought well, there comes a time in every man’s life where he has to speak on the radio and not look like a wuss in front of the girls in the car beside him. So I chatted to her for a sec, and had to pretend I was happy when she said she was going to play some shitty song for me instead. You can download the short recording one of those girls managed to get below. It’s pretty quiet and all, but you should hear it okay. A great bit at the end got cut off though, where the presenter says :

Oh he sounds smooth doesn’t he? Mr. Walsh and his bitches.

That bit I loved! I was actually pretty nervous, having never actually spoken on the radio or anything like that before, but it was pretty fun, and I reckon I managed to avoid being one of those guests that only ever says yes or no in reply to the presenter!
