Y'alright?

Continuing my trend of wordpress blogs.

I’ve set up a new site - RockFestivalBlog

It’s got a nice theme which I think suits the blog. It’s going to be a blog for any updates on rock festivals around the world. Obviously this won’t receive much interest until next summer when festivals begin, but it’s good to start it up now and establish it. I hope to run the site for a while, and employ some of the wordpress tricks I’ve used on this blog. Hopefully I can monetise it (I’m currently in the process of getting adsense on the left side, but I’d prefer a better method of monetising, any suggestions welcome).

I’ll try to put up some reviews of this years festivals anyway, just to bulk the page up a little, but I want to use all original content, meaning I’m going to have to write for it, or have someone do it for me. The categories at the side will be the names of the festival and maybe with the country beside it in brackets, so something like this :

  • Oxegen (Ireland)
  • Download (England)
  • Pukkelpop (Germany(?) )
  • That other one (country)

I couldn’t think of any other ones there! An important update I have to be ready for is when it’s announced for tickets going on sale for the festivals. I wonder if I can make any money off that actually, say I provide a link to a site selling tickets, and people buy from that link, could I get a small percent of something. This is where I’m very limited, I know so little about alternative monetisation. I make my money from making sites and selling them, and I monetise current sites with adsense. That’s pretty much all I know.

So I’m looking forward to making this new blog, it relates to my post about playing to my strengths. This is a subject I have some sort of interest in. Even if I don’t get to make money off it while running it, I reckon it’d sell easily enough if I go that way. This kind of site isn’t saturated like some other sites I’ve done, and all posts will hopefully be unique.

Seems like a pretty nice idea, and the theme is really cool
