Blog contests galore!

There’s always contests going on around the blogosphere, but lately many of the blogs I read every day are having them, so here’s a few links and brief descriptions to keep you entertained while I’m busy studying instead of posting on here for you!

Firstly, Thomas Sinfield is having a contest to win some advertising on his blog. Thomas makes some very helpful posts, and has a growing RSS feed count, so advertising on there could prove pretty helpful. To enter you must simply subscribe to his RSS feed by email and throw in a link to his blog somewhere on your own site. Fairly easy, and since Thomas doesn’t want to drag out the contest, it’s ending tomorrow, so get entering

Next up is David Hong from DigHong.com. David’s got three prizes up for grabs. 1st prize is $50 paypal + a month’s advertising on his blog + a month’s hosting on his own dedicated server. That’s a generous first prize, $50 straight from his own pocket. 2nd prize is $20 paypal, the advertising, and the hosting. 3rd prize is the advertising and hosting. It’s easy to enter the contest, you can read full details in this post.

The next contest is a jumbo contest between five different bloggers. The University Kid (Jason), who I mention a lot on here, is one of the contestants, and the one I’m not only backing, but rooting for

The others are : Thomas Sinfield (again!), SlyVisions, Internet Babel, and Ian Fernando

The winner is whoever gets the biggest increase in RSS subscribers by the end of the month, and that winner will get free advertising on the other guys’ blogs, along with huge gloating rights Check out each of the blogs to see what each of them is offering in a bid to get you as a subscriber.

SlyVisions has a cool brand, but I’d like to see his slogan go from “The Sly Guy” to “Pretty Fly for a Sly Guy”. I know I’d subcribe to that.

I’ve entered some of these contests, and by god I better win something!

This evening I’m off to see a Teacher Talent Show in my school. It should be pretty hilarious watching some of the teachers make fools of themselves. I must admit, though my school may not be as good in terms of education as some of the private schools out there, it is really great for this sort of thing. How many other schools have teachers doing a piss-take of ‘Stars in your Eyes’ for us all to laugh at? They’re willingly providing us with ammo for slagging them in class the next day, which is just beautiful. This Friday is the school dress up day, where we all have to find some sort of costume. The exact term for the theme this year escapes me, but basically you have to dress up as whatever you wanted to be when you were a child. I’ve got my outfit all sorted, and I reckon it’s pretty funny. I’ll look like a complete idiot walking around in it, but there’ll be no mistaking who/what I’m dressed as. So check back on Friday and I’ll hopefully have some pictures for you all!
