Got home this morning at around 11am, (was at Mr.Lynam’s house the previous night) and tried to get some sleep before eventually having to go to work in a sleep deprived state. A headache is now setting in to stop me making any sort of quality post on here, so apologies if this post is a complete waste (I just didn’t want to break my record of posting at least once a day).
Not much business going on at the moment, except I saw a nice Harry Potter site for sale today, and given that Harry Potter’s my secret shame/love I just had to bid, but I’m not going to go spending too much on it. Also noticed lately this blog is getting a few extra visitors, which I’m delighted with.
Tomorrow I’m going to post updated stats for this blog, and thus begin my new plan to post stats at the end of every month.
I can’t wait till the Google PR update, I’m hoping it’ll be soon. I should get a pr1, which isn’t that much use, but I think it’ll let me put this blog up for paid posting jobs, so that could open up a new window of financial opportunity.

I’ve set up a new site - RockFestivalBlog
It’s got a nice theme which I think suits the blog. It’s going to be a blog for any updates on rock festivals around the world. Obviously this won’t receive much interest until next summer when festivals begin, but it’s good to start it up now and establish it. I hope to run the site for a while, and employ some of the wordpress tricks I’ve used on this blog. Hopefully I can monetise it (I’m currently in the process of getting adsense on the left side, but I’d prefer a better method of monetising, any suggestions welcome).
I’ll try to put up some reviews of this years festivals anyway, just to bulk the page up a little, but I want to use all original content, meaning I’m going to have to write for it, or have someone do it for me. The categories at the side will be the names of the festival and maybe with the country beside it in brackets, so something like this :
- Oxegen (Ireland)
- Download (England)
- Pukkelpop (Germany(?) )
- That other one (country)
I couldn’t think of any other ones there! An important update I have to be ready for is when it’s announced for tickets going on sale for the festivals. I wonder if I can make any money off that actually, say I provide a link to a site selling tickets, and people buy from that link, could I get a small percent of something. This is where I’m very limited, I know so little about alternative monetisation. I make my money from making sites and selling them, and I monetise current sites with adsense. That’s pretty much all I know.
So I’m looking forward to making this new blog, it relates to my post about playing to my strengths. This is a subject I have some sort of interest in. Even if I don’t get to make money off it while running it, I reckon it’d sell easily enough if I go that way. This kind of site isn’t saturated like some other sites I’ve done, and all posts will hopefully be unique.

I know it’s a pretty typical thing that people give out about, how Christmas comes earlier every year, how it’s just become a farce etc etc. I usually avoid talking about this drivel if possible but when I noticed this yesterday I just had to blog about it
Was taking money out of the Dunnes Stores atm yesterday, and while waiting in line my eye was caught by some decorations. Expecting them to be halloween decorations I turned around to look at them, and saw little miniature Santa Claus’ on the shelves. Then some false Christmas trees for sale. And behind all of these Christmas decorations…the halloween ones. It’s not even October yet!
So when the surprise wore off, I realised that overall it’s a smart move by Dunnes. Yeah it’s really way too early for Christmas decorations, but they’re getting way ahead of everyone else in this race too. At least when it comes up to buying Christmas decorations we’ll know that Dunnes do some stuff, because we’ve seen them there for the past 3 months. Some people might even buy some things now, so as they’re not spending as much around December, when money tends to be short.
So kudos to whoever made that decision to take the risk and put out the decorations earlier than usual.

Have led to me finishing all homework that’s due for Monday already. Now in fairness I had very little, but to get it all done by this time is still damn nice. I have tons of stuff due Tuesday though, so I think I better do some of that now I have the chance to make next week a little easier on myself.
I’ve put PhoneGallery up for sale and it’s already gotten a bid of 5$, which would be profit already! The site looks quite nice actually, so I should be able to get a bit more for it, but anything’s good for that site really, considering I only decided to make it yesterday to get rid of the domain, then finished it really quickly.
Should be heading out soon with Mr.Lynam to celebrate the life and sale of petedohertyforum.com. (by celebrate, we generally mean toast to it in the process of getting wastedz0rz).
Also a public thanks to Dave for his suggestion of what to do with the banner on this site and helping me decide. Hopefully I’ll be dealing with this soon, I don’t like how it currently looks so I’ll put the page back to the way it was, and maybe throw the banner down at the bottom or something, just so I can get some use out of the thing, because it does look quite nice on its own. I’ve a couple of posts in mind that aren’t just my ramblings so there’s something to look forward to

That it’s a huge advantage to be making a site I’m actually interested in or have knowledge about. This seems obvious, but I’ve never really used it to my advantage. What has been my biggest and most successful project to date? Petedohertyforum.com. Without doubt. The site saw huge success, (it’s currently number eleven on google searches for Pete Doherty, which is insane) with a great number of members who post regurlarly. It’s also the biggest sale Lynam and I have ever made.
Why?
Because I love the music of Pete Doherty/Babyshambles/The Libertines. I enjoyed running that forum and wanted it to succeed, I was doing a version of it for free beforehand. I had and still have a genuine interest in that forum.
So maybe if I get stuck for site ideas, a Kings Of Leon fansite maybe? My second favourite band right now, going to see them in November, and I know a lot about them. Could make a site about them without that much difficulty. Or anything else I have an interest in.
Time to start playing to my strengths methinks
PS. I think this is my fourth blog post today? Not bad going, considering I’ve done all my homework, sold one site, made another site, and begun a piece of homework that’s not due until next Monday.

So earlier the internet on both laptops in the house just suddenly went, and after a bit of messing around by me, it was time to call Eircom.
Now I’ve never come off the phone with an Eircom rep impressed by them. But today the guy really impressed me. Guided me through a few different steps with patience and without that annoying patronising air to him that most tech folk have (they seem to all presume you’re a complete n00b). Got the problem sorted in about ten minutes, so thumbs up to Eircom (well the guy on the phone).
So a while later and I’ve sold recipeselite.info for 35$, so that’s great profit rate. Also been working on phonegallery.info.
I’ve had that domain for so long and decided I had to do something with it now before it expired and became a complete waste of 2/3 dollars.
So now there’s a nice looking blog up there and I threw up some articles on it, so hopefully I’ll sell that for any sort of profit, anything half decent would satisfy me to be honest.

Found this today on boards.ie, Pro Evo is a damn good football game, the only ever rival to FIFA, so when I found a free download for it on PC there was no saying no.

Bit of a heavy download at 1gb though, but hopefully will be worth it.

It’s just gone 5pm, and I’m finished my homework for tomorrow. Not only that, but I was at the post office for ages then stopped at the way home to spend my change on a packet o’ ripples and a 20c mix
It seems the sweets were motivation to do my homework quickly or something!
Now a good student would probably use this time to do extra study. So I’m off to work on my websites.

A few days ago I posted about taking a risk by loaning a guy 6$ on paypal. Well it’s just payed off, and I’ve just been payed 10$ back.
So always nice to make a few dollars for doing absolutely nothing. Maybe start a loan shark business??

Is what I’ve been doing today online, working on ebuyitall.com. The thing is so irritating, but it’s doable, so worth doing for the profit potential in selling it on afterwards.
I’ve also transferred paypal funds to my bank account for the first time, mainly just for the satisfaction of finally doing this. I’ve also verified my paypal account, so I’ve gotten something out of all this boring work tonight.
The thing about working online is that you have to do these kind of tasks. Repairing or editing coding isn’t the most fun in the world to most, but the only alternative to doing it is to pay someone else to do it. Why waste your money on this when they’ll probably do a worse job than me anyway?
I can’t code for my life, but with ebuyitall I’m just editing links and page descriptions, so it’s something I can do. Of course it’s way better and more fun making sales threads and dealing with customers, but it’s this annoying work that gets you there. Finishing a site to a good standard after being messing around with the html for a few days is pretty rewarding too. The good thing about this is that I know exactly what I have to do when I get time for business.
So there’s a little lesson, walsho.net style!
I’ve also noticed this blog has 8 subscribers according to feedburner, which means it probably has even more casual readers.
Who are these subscribers?! For the love of god tell me who you are!
