Your-parenting for sale.

I’ve made the site to a satisfactory standard, and have placed it for sale on Digital Point. The site may get me a decent amount, and for a couple hours work, if even, it’d be well worth it. Financially I can’t lose, since the site only cost me $2.19.

I’m rather excited about this sale, although maybe I’m being too optimistic in my hopeful expectation of $50. If I don’t get a bid I’m happy with, I won’t sell. I’d rather work on the site some more, (get a banner made, get more unique content etc) and sell it again, and were I do to this I’d certainly get a good price for it. As it stands, I don’t want to put too much work into one sale, because no sale is guaranteed.

Finger crossed anyway.

Current reading material.

I got this book on impulse when I saw it in Tesco the other day for just €5.95. It’s by the author who wrote “The curious incident of the dog in the night-time”, which was brilliant.

So far it’s pretty good, only read through about 60-70 pages, but it’s not exactly riveting stuff.

New site idea

I’ve come to realise just how useful Wordpress (the software being used on this blog) is in making any kind of site. So lately I’ve been trying to think of a site I could create using wordpress, then sell on at a decent price. Today I came up with the idea of making a parenting site, and for the articles on it I can use some of the articles I’ve purchased for Adsense websites. So this way, I don’t have to think of the articles myself, but I have full rights to the ones I will be using. I’ll find some good links to put in the side, and try work some adsense into it too. Hopefully there’ll be a good amount to be made from it (I’m aiming for a site worthy of a BIN [buy it now] price of $50).

Edit- site is your-parenting

Got myself a PR4 domain.

This is very good. Pagerank (pr) is a sort of website rating. The pr4 domain supercourse.info just expired, and I found out and immediately purchased the domain for a grand total of $2.19.

Now I’ve just go to decide what to do with the thing!

Ocean’s Eleven

I watched this film the other night and I absolutely loved it.

I can’t wait to watch the next two films. And the suits in the movie are brilliant, I can’t wait for the day I can buy a decent suit.

Go watch these films anyway.

Huzzah!

I’ve sold yourfinancez.info for a decent amount of $15, which is over 700% profit I believe, not bad

I’ve gotten some new site packages and products lately, all barring one of them were free, so hopefully I’ll make something of them.

I also plan to make a niche site using wordpress soon, and try to sell it one for a bit more than these MFA sites have been going for.

Sites in the works.

Yet some more sites I’m making just so I can sell. Yourfinances is yet another MFA I’m chancing my arm on selling. Anything over 2.19 USD for this will be profit, as I put no more than five minutes setting it all up, and the domain cost just 2.19.

Phonegallery is giving me trouble in setting it up, but hopefully I’ll be able to sell it for a half decent amount. The last thing I want to do is work on my iPhone site again, and try sell it. Time will tell with these last two, but yourfinancez is going up for sale a little later on, I just want to give it a few hours because my last sale was quite recent.

Rant 3 : “Random” & “Literally”

Oh dear god. I have grown to fucking hate these words. Only because these days about 90% of the time they’re being used completely incorrectly.
Random - Having no specific pattern, purpose, or objective: random movements.
Why don’t people pay any attention to the actual meaning of this word lately?
Everything is just so random, everybody is so random, even our freaking clothes are random. That song on the radio? Yeah, it’s random. The convention of science, logic, patterns and purpose? That’s random. The laws of physics? As random and kooky as hell.
No, very few things are actually random there sweetheart.
Please please please stop over-using this word. There’s very few times when it deserves to be used. Most things/people/events are not random at all. Seeing somebody you know from school at the shop isn’t random. Having the same top as someone who shops in the same places as you is not random. A giant American eagle shitting on your head, while you’re on vacation in the Antarctic, yeah that’s a little random.

Literally - In a literal manner; word for word; In a literal or strict sense.
Using this word when not appropriate is so irritating. [And by the way, it's litErally, not litrally, take note Dublin skang, please].
“I was literally, shitting a brick.” No you fucking weren’t. If you were, you’d have been on television by now, or more likely in a coffin due to cement poisoning.
Using this word when something isn’t literal completely defeats the purpose of it, it’s wasting time and breath just saying it. Why do people do it? Why God, why? I mean literally, why?
[oh the satire is truly overwhelming, oh-ho-ho-hoooh].

Rant 2 : De dclne v grmmr dese dayez!!??!!1 lolz (or to the non retarded : The decline of grammar these days.)

Ah here it is, one of the big ones for me. And not many other people, because not many people get bothered by this sorta thing, and rightly so to be honest, I do wish I wasn’t so pedantic about this grammar lark, but I am, and so, here comes the rant.

It really confuses me how so little people have decent grammar or spelling these days. Fair enough, texting and bebo, you can imagine there being a fair amount of txt spk (although I refrain from using it usually). But when I go into work, and my boss, or someone else working above me on more money makes a sign for the general public, I expect it to be somewhat coherant. Jesus, the amount of mistakes my eye gets drawn to when I read the bullshit notices they put up. And sometimes all in capitals. Whatever happened to non retards being put in charge of places? I can’t take someone as intelligent if they are unable to write a simple paragraph (in their own language) without causing me a seizure due to the amount of mistakes in it. I actually get admitted to A&E weekly because of this, they’re thinking of creating my own ward, for grammar (or lack thereof) related illnesses.
People say the flaw is we don’t get taught enough english grammar because we speak it and don’t see any need for it. This however, is bullshit. I think my understanding of english grammar to be of high enough standard, and the only actual teaching I had of this was in school. I have had the rules of apostrophes and other various “difficult” aspects of grammar rammed down my freaking throat like a black man’s cock down in a girl’s mouth in a low budget porno far too many times.
(being continued from where I left this last time)
Let’s have a breakdown of just some of the common mistakes these days (no point including any txt spk here, it’s a given annoyance.)
Apostrophes : For the love of Christ, it isn’t hard to understand when these are used.
You do not use them when making a word plural, simple.
1. You use them when omitting a letter, to shorten a word/phrase. [e.g., Do not -> Don't, it is -> it's] The apostrophe goes in place of the letter being removed (I always see people write “have’nt”, it’s “haven’t) Although using an apostrophe in this sense is considered slang anyway afaik.
2. When forming the possessive form of a noun. [e.g., The hat of the boy -> the boy's hat]
The exception here is the word “it” which never takes an apostrophe for possession.
Your, You’re. “Your” is for possession, [that is your book] and “you’re” is the shortened form of “you are”. I understand the real reason I see “your” all the time is just laziness though.
There, They’re, Their. Ah, this is probably the biggest grammar related reason (aside from txt spk) that my blood pressure will be through the roof by the time I’m 35. “They’re” is the shortened form of “they are”. “Their” indicates possession. [they all own the company, therefore it is their company]. I can’t think of the grammatical term for “there”, but the example of it is “the book is over there”. Maybe someone could help me out in the comments on that one.

One thing I’ve noticed lately is people saying the word “irregardless”. Think about that one, and how idiotic it is.
This entry was so incredibly unnecessary, I know that, but ah sure.

Rant 1 : Private Numbers.

Ever had a missed call on your mobile before and when you check it it’s number withheld?
This happens me far too fucking often. Even when I’m about to pick up the phone and it’s private number it annoys me. I have no idea who it could be, and whether or not to answer, which inevitably means I do just in case it’s important. It could be a mate asking me to do something later on,(good) or it could be my boss asking me to come in on very short notice, knowing I’m too nice to say no if I think they’re stuck (bad).
How am I supposed to call someone back if I missed their call when they have their number on private?
Most annoying part is that there’s really no explanation as to why someone would have their number on private! I’ve asked people and the main response I get is “Yeah, I dunno actually”. Then take it the fuck off! Christ. We all had our number on private when we were kids, just on the offchance we’d be pranking someone for poops and giggles. But now, it’s completely pointless.
